What's in the build

Pineapple and Classic, properly implemented

Real royalty scoring by row, real scoop bonus, real fouling. The royalty chart in-game is generated from the same code that scores the hand, so it can't drift from what actually pays.

Three bots, three attitudes

Beginner plays its own board and little else. Grinder avoids fouls and takes the safe royalties. Shark counts the dead cards on your board and prices its risk against what you're visibly drawing to.

A tutorial that deals you a hand

Not a wall of rules — a guided hand where you place the cards and it explains why. Plus a rules screen and the full royalty chart you can pull up mid-match without losing the hand.

Missions, levels, stakes

Daily and weekly missions, XP levels that unlock bigger tables, and a coin bankroll that goes in and out of every match. It's play money, and it's the reason you play ten more hands.

Progress you can move

No signup to play. If you want your progress on a new phone, attach an email and get a one-time code — that's the only thing an email is ever used for in the app.

Heads-up or three-handed

1v1 or 1v2. Three-handed genuinely plays differently: the same deck goes round three boards, so half your outs are dead by the middle of a hand and safe boards start winning.

What it doesn't have yet

Being straight about this saves everyone a one-star review. It's a beta and these are the gaps:

  • Fantasyland. Next in the rules engine. How it works , for when it lands.
  • Online multiplayer. On the roadmap. Everything today is against bots.
  • Android. Not built. The beta list is how that gets prioritised.
  • Ranked ladder. The mode exists in the menu and isn't switched on.

Questions about the app

Is there an Open Face Chinese poker app for iOS?

OFC Poker is in open beta on TestFlight for iPhone, running iOS 15 or newer. It plays Pineapple and Classic against bots, offline, with no account. Join the beta and you get an invite with the next build.

Is the app free?

Yes, and there is no real-money gambling in it. The coins and stakes are play money used for missions and progression.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. The game is built with a cross-platform stack, so an Android build is realistic — the beta list is how we decide when it's worth doing, so say Android in your reply if that's what you need.

Can I play against real people?

Not in this build. Every hand is against bots. That's a deliberate choice for a game where a hand takes two minutes: waiting on a human to place two cards, five times, is a worse experience than playing a bot that answers instantly. Online tables are on the roadmap.

Does it have Fantasyland?

Not yet, and it's the most requested item on the list. The current build has full royalties, the scoop bonus and fouling; Fantasyland is next in line for the rules engine.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Hands are dealt and scored on the device, so you can play a 50-round match on a plane. Progress syncs when you're back online, and nothing is lost if you never are.

What does the app do with my email?

For the beta: send you the TestFlight invite and tell you when there's a new build. In the app: nothing unless you attach one yourself to move your progress to another phone, and then it's only used to send a login code. No ad networks, no resale, and one reply gets you removed.
